At Life Home Builders, our all-inclusive extensions are offered to those who want to increase the floor area of an existing property, enhancing it so that you can enjoy the longevity of what extra space can do! Some of our extensions include, but are not limited to, ground-floor extensions, first-floor additions, outdoor living areas, and everything in between!
Ground Floor Extensions / Additional Space / Rooms
A little original Gerringong cottage needed a lot of love (and space!) added to it when purchased by its owners. Designing and building a large extension extending into the backyard, incorporating large living, dining, kitchen, butlers pantry and laundry. This space became the heart of the home!
First Floor Additions/ Second Storey Extension
The Mariner is a relocated home that has been meticulously restored alongside a large two-story extension located on the edge of Jervis Bay! This extension was designed and built in the house, encompassing a second living area, guest bedroom with ensuite on the ground floor, and master bedroom and large ensuite on the first floor—not without a spiral staircase and porthole window!

The Mariner
This stunning home extension and renovation were one of a kind! The client’s brief of creating a retro beach shack from a far north Queenslander home, relocated, restored, and extended on made this one of our favourite projects so far! We designed a two-storey extension that connects to the original house via a large sunroom that spills out onto two outdoor entertaining areas with large bifold doors.
The new part of the house ties in beautifully with the carefully restored and reimagined ‘old’ house. It contains a second living room, guest bedroom, and ensuite on the lower level and a generous master suite above, with quirky details like the etched glass porthole window at the top of the stairs and the spiral staircase on the deck!
Gerringong Coastal Cottage
Our Gerringong Coastal Cottage was an extension and renovation of one of Gerringong’s original houses. Designing and building a large extension extending into the backyard, incorporating large living, dining, kitchen, butler’s pantry and laundry. This space became the heart of the home while the front of the house was left for bedrooms and bathrooms, which oozed street appeal!

Our construction build zone covers the NSW South Coast from Coldedale to Milton and up to the Southern Highlands.
How long does a home extension take?
The timeline for a home extension varies depending on the project’s scope and complexity. We provide a detailed timeline during the planning phase to ensure clarity.
What factors influence the cost of a home extension?
The cost depends on various factors, including the size and type of extension, the materials and finishes selected, and any necessary structural changes. We offer a detailed quote after the initial consultation, and plans are developed to ensure transparency and help you plan your budget effectively.
Do I need council approval for my extension?
In Australia, many home extensions require council approval, especially if they involve structural changes or additions to the home’s exterior. We handle all necessary permits and approvals to ensure compliance with local regulations and a smooth building process.
